The volunteer brings up her chair and while you're talking to the audience or trying to levitate a bell, a megaphone, or objects on a table like a Houdini Sceance, the volunteer rises in the air.
A 3x5 card note is given to the volunteer telling her she is going to float about 4 feet off the floor so she is prepared and won't jump off the chair when lifted. Sometimes a pre-arrangement helps in selecting a willing volunteer and the card won't be necessary.
